Read2Me is a parent/child emergent literacy preventative and intervention program. This program runs both within the local community and in our in-house clinic. Both HESP graduate and undergraduate students gain experience using research-based, best practices to teach parents how to use specific language stimulation skills and enhance their young children's early literacy development. Parent/child enrollment is geared toward typically developing and communication-impaired children.
What is included in Read2Me? -Pre and post intervention evaluations for every child -Parent training on a variety of strategies to help improve their child's communication and early reading skills -Literacy-based, multi-sensory classroom activities -Collaboration with peers, parents, and clinical and academic faculty
